Car Detailing in Lewes

Lewes and the villages around it are a different proposition from the coastal towns we cover. Narrow historic streets in the town, and country lanes out towards Ringmer, Kingston, Barcombe and the South Downs, mean cars here tend to collect mud, road film and stone chips rather than sea salt.

Country lanes and what they leave behind

Muddy lanes coat lower panels, sills and wheel arches, and once that dirt dries it becomes abrasive. Farm traffic leaves grit on the road, and freshly surfaced lanes throw tar spots along the sides of the car. Washing all of this off carelessly is how fine scratches end up dragged across the paint.

We start low and work upwards: wheels, arches and sills first, with a thorough pre-wash to soften and lift heavy dirt, then a careful contact wash and tar removal. Interiors get the same attention, particularly footwells that have seen muddy boots after a walk on the Downs.

Protecting against stone chips

Loose chippings on rural roads are one of the main causes of chips on bonnets, bumpers and mirrors. If you drive the lanes regularly, paint protection film on the front end is well worth considering, and a ceramic coating on the rest of the car makes mud far easier to rinse off.

Lewes questions

Can you work in the narrow streets of central Lewes?

Where the van can park safely beside the car, yes. Some streets in the town centre are very tight, so tell us your address and we will confirm, or arrange for the car to come to our studio instead.

Do you cover the villages outside Lewes?

We are happy to travel to the villages around the town. If you are not sure whether we reach you, send us your postcode and we will let you know.
